One of Europe's largest hoards of gold and silver coins has been unearthed in Jersey Island in Great Britain. Tens of thousands gold and silver coins, weighing 750kg in total, were found.
Experts say the findings date about 2000 years back: the coins are dated to 50BC. They were circulated among the Celts, who lived in today’s Britain.
The treasure might be buried there during Julius Caesar’s invasion. According to scientists, up to 50, 000 coins were found worth 16,5mln USD.
Metal finders had been searching for the treasure for more than 30 years after coins were found near tree roots.
