Two Azerbaijani citizens arrested in Iran

Iran has officially confirmed two Azerbaijani citizens were arrested in the country. The two citizens disappeared on May 2 after their visit to Tavriz.

Radio Station Liberty informs in response to the complaint addressed to Azerbaijan’s foreign ministry, Tehran informed the two young persons were arrested on a charge of attempting a criminal offense.

In answer, Azerbaijan again sent a note demanding to explain why the Iranian side kept the whereabouts and the reasons of the arrest of the Azerbaijani citizens in secret for a long time.
