The 7th Mikhail Tal Memorial finished in Moscow. This year, too, Norway’s GM, No. 1 in the world ratings Magnus Carlsen became the winner in the memorial. He scored 5.5 from the possible 9 and leads the standings alone.
Fabiano Caruana (Italy) is the second and Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan) is the third.
No. 2 in FIDE rankings Levon Arnoyan is the fourth having scored 4.5. He won Caruana in the last round.
“I am happy I succeeded to finish the tournament with a positive indicator. At first, I was playing without energy, but then I was able to concentrate. If there were a couple of more rounds, I would be able to improve my playing,” Aronyan said.
