American and Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama who are in Mexico to participate in the summit of G20 have also held a private meeting. At the end of the bilateral meeting the two presidents have released a jointed statement.
Putin stated in his speech they spoke about international problems including the Syrian issue and shared pledges of cooperation. According to the latter, they are united in the belief that the Syrian people should have the opportunity to independently and democratically choose their own future, urging to cease violence immediately and to implement Kofi Annan’s plan.
