Yesterday, fire burst out in the prison of Sanliurfa, Turkey, where 13 prisoners died of fire a few days ago. Almost at the same time, fire also burst out in the prisons in Adana, Gaziantep, Osmanie and Ceyhan.
In Gaziantep a prisoner supporting the protest of Sanliurfa’s prison set the bedding on fire. 24 people were injured in the fire. In Adana the number of the injured reached 12, mainly teenagers. 6 teenagers were injured in Ceyhan’s prison and in Osmanie 23 people were taken to hospital.
The relatives of the prisoners hearing about the fire hurried to the scenes, the police, in turn, used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
