The State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition had received an application from the members of Heritage Party saying that anti-competition actions are being taken in the sphere of medicine procurement.
The State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition found the same picture. Particularly, it found that a number of entities and medical institutions have really carried out anti-competition actions violating the state procurement procedures.
There were cases when the medical institutions didn’t announce tenders at all when it is an obligatory requirement established by law. Thus, SCPEC found the activity of 9 entities and 30 medical institutions as anti-competitive.
However, the commission only imposed a fine of 50mln AMD on the largest drug importer and retailer in Armenia, Natali Pharm, and gave a stern warning to the others.
