Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed regional security and stability issues at their meeting in Istanbul, tert.am informs.
According to Gruziya online, the parties stressed the necessity of deepening regional cooperation.
Erdogan supported Georgia’s strive to become NATO’s member, wishing success on its way to it. The parties also discussed the process of reforms in Georgia as well as the process of preparation for upcoming parliamentary elections.
Saakashvili and Erdogan touched upon strategic cooperation issues, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway construction, etc.
Georgia’s president is participating in international conference in Istanbul.
