Today, about 60 coworkers of the Examination centre of the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science submitted applications to be dismissed from work. With this step they expressed their support to the former director of the centre Maya Miminoshvili, who was dismissed from work.
Tert.am informs the centre said after the end of the examinations to start in mid July the 200 coworkers of the center will submit applications of dismissal phase by phase.
The scandal emerged when Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Shashkin decided to dismiss Miminoshvili from work who had been making reforms in the educational sphere for long years. The minister explained his step with the “principle incompatibility” in the issue of further reforms and denied the information about political pressures on Miminoshvili.
But the director of the center and her environment think that the reason for the dismissal was the fact that the director’s son participated in the May 27 rally of opposition member Bidzina Ivanishvili’s Georgian Dream coalition in Tbilisi.
