Parliamentary delegations of 10 countries are participating in the 39th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) in Yerevan. Stable economic development, ecology, social needs of the population, ensuring state assistance for private business: these are the issues on the agenda of the session in Yerevan.
Information characteristic of the Azerbaijani propaganda has also become an issue of the agenda. Turkish and Azerbaijani delegation representatives are also in Yerevan. Yesterday, the latter ones have become the target of their own media, which allegedly making a reference to the Armenian media, rose a hysteria that the Azerbaijani delegation has joined the other delegations visiting Tsitsernakaberd Memorial to the Armenian genocide victims. NA Speaker Samvel Nikoyan also commented on this information today: “The delegation is fearful, they even didn’t participate in the official dinner yesterday”.
Though the Azerbaijani delegation is fearful, it didn’t prevent them from being photoed together in the yard of the National Assembly building in accordance to the ceremony.
To note, RA President Serzh Sargysan has called for joint cooperation. The head of the presidential staff Vigen Sargsyan passed the president’s address to the session participants.
“I am more than convinced that, taking into account the approaches of mutual compromises characteristic of parliamentarism, you can have a significant role in the process of making general decisions on the mentioned problems as well as decisions, which respect the interests of all the member states. Armenia is convinced that mutual trust can be achieved solely by way of expanding regional cooperation, deblockage of closed borders, [and] stimulating multi-domain interaction, and this will serve as basis for resolving all problems through peaceful and compromised methods. The PABSEC’s role becomes important in this context, too,” the address reads.
