On Monday, Samara’s court sentenced Azerbaijani Jampolad Budagov, European wushu champion, to 13 years’ imprisonment. Budagov had killed Armenian police officer Samvel Mehrabov.
Yerkir.am informs making a reference to Azerbaijani sources that Mehrabov’s mother said the punishment is not enough for Budagov and she will appeal against the decision in the court.
On August 1, 2011, there was a quarrel between the Azerbaijani athlete and the policeman’s brother in Vodopad café, in which the policeman was killed. Mehrabov was celebrating his father’s birthday in the cafe.
