PAP, ARF-D and ANC have issued a joint statement yesterday during the plenary session of the united headquarters. In its statement the headquarters says that the elections were held with general violations of law.
Particularly, CEC, violating the requirements of the law, didn’t ensure the proper use of passport stamps, which is the main instrument to rule out multiple voting. The voting list used during the elections and the officially published number of the voters who participated in the elections are also very unreliable.
The united headquarters states that the parliament formed in the result of the May 6 parliamentary elections doesn’t reflect the real picture of the people’s support for the political forces.
“The united headquarters will continue to join efforts for the transformation of the defective election system established in the country and in the direction of establishing really democratic election mechanisms,” the statement says.
