The ministry of emergency situations circulated a release a while ago, according to which at 7:37pm on May 4 there was an alarm call that ballons filled with gas caused an explosion at the Republic Square.
The explosion left many injured. A fire-fighting brigade left for the scene. The police and the ambulance service on duty were informed about the incident.
According to preliminary data, the number of the injured in the explosion has reached 144. 30 people were taken to the Centre of Radiation Medicine and Burns, 20 people were taken to “Armenia” medical centre, 9 people - to N1 clinical hospital, 20 people-to Proshyan hospital, 20 people-to Heratsi N1 hospital, 5 people-to “Muratsan” medical centre, 2 children -to Surb Astvatsatsin maternity hospital.
The concert was declared closed a few minutes after Serzh Sargsyan left for “Nairi” medical centre, panorama.am informs about this, the camera of which has also fixed the moment of the blast.
